Michael I have been a Rooster supporter for 50 years and some of my fondest memories have been of matches played between North and Port, that being said, I find myself disappointed with hearing that the North Adeliade Football Club is speaking out against the port merger. I cant help felling that this is a bit mean spirited particularly in the light of the only too recent financial threat to Norths survival as a club.

Thanks Michael,

North Adelaide Football Club conveyed our views in confidence to the relevant parties, not the public arena as the matter is much more complicated then has been publicised. Our survival was due to the support of our loyal supporters, prudent management and the courage to act.

PaulI'd like to say I support N.A.F.C's position on the Port Adelaide merger with the Power. South Adelaide has managed to survive the threat of extinction through good management in spite of very poor on field performance. We have survived our own threats that were just as serious. Port only seem to see one solution, they need to read their own creed. Without the benefit of seeing the proposal I think the risk of an unfair advantage over other SANFL clubs is too great. After all they were ready to drop the S.A.N.F.L. like a hot scone to join the A.F.L. I dont want to see them fold for the benefit of of the SANFL but they need to survive through good management, not by pullling in an advantage no other club has.

Thanks Paul,

The Club shares your concerns and trusts that the Port Magpies can manage their current position.

JeffI have just read Barrie's last offering. I'm a grown man and I have just shed a tear. Once again, Barrie (God), all the best and thanks for the offerings both on and off the field. I'm a privileged man.

Thanks Jeff

Your thoughts would be echoed by the Rooster community!

BrentonI feel we are a tad short in the back line, we wont see much of Davis who improved out of sight in the last half of the season, what new players have we got and do you expect any to push for a senior spot?
The Coach

Brenton,

Happy New Year.

I believe our young backline did very well last year and I look for further improvement in 2010. Like you, we are not counting on having Phil Davis with us but I am extremely confident that we have the right mix down there. In my opinion, we need players who are versatile; with the ability to play on talls or shorts. Rarely do opposition sides play three genuine tall forwards for 4 quarters.

A backline with McIntyre, Gallman, Cunningham and White certainly gives us that versatility. Throw in Sporn and Ivens and I think we are well positioned.

Looking forward to the season starting.

See you there!

BenThanks for the "Inside the centre square" initiative. There is such a long gap between seasons and having these opportunities keeps the enthusiasm alive. Thanks and keep up the good work!!

Thanks Ben!
Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the visit. Whilst we understand that not everyone can attend, this does provide an opportunity for members to gain an insight to training.
Glenn

Ben,
You're more than welcome. Love to see supporters with genuine care and passion for the club.
See you in 2010!
Daniel
