New District Court Judges

South Australia's Crown Solicitor and a respected Adelaide lawyer are the states newest District Court Judges.
   
Simon Stretton SC and Anne Bampton were appointed by the Governor in an Executive Council meeting yesterday morning.

The pair is expected to begin hearing cases within weeks.

Deputy crown Solicitor Greg Parker will step up as the new Crown Solicitor.
 
Judge Stretton SC was admitted to the South Australian Bar in 1979 and has also practised in New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
 
Judge Bampton graduated from Adelaide University in 1985 and has experience as a Master of the District Court and conference registrar for the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
