What a shame we can't lure Jordan Dodman back to Prossie Park. He'd be ideal at full forward. I saw him play at the Bay a few years back and he was a seriously committed contender. Maybe he could be another Michael Parsons - good at basketball, better at football!
Administration
Jordan has recently signed with Flinders Park in Div 2. The club has tried over recent years to get Jordan back, but he has preferred not to pursue League Football.

With the news on the weekend that Gilly is going interstate and Motts coaching up the river, there is a lack of key experienced forward line players next season. Will the club look at recruiting players or go with youth?

Football Operations
Whilst even at this late stage we continue to look for suitable players to play as a key forward, I think you will see Alleway back up there, with support from several others who will be pushing to grab a spot up forward.

Is it true that you will not be playing at North next year?
Nick Gill
Nick Gill has accepted an on air radio job in Cairns. He advised the club late Friday.

Can the club confirm that Nick Gill is leaving to pursue his media career interstate please?

Also there are strong rumours doing the rounds that Clint Alleway has to undergo some major surgery and will miss the first third or even more of season 2012 - is this fact or fiction and can we have an update?

What is the contigency plan to replace Gill and if true, Alleway. Our key forward stocks look very thin if we are without both Gill and Alleway as you cannot rely on the likes of Stewart and Lewis Johnstone being available given they are AFL listed players?
Football Operations
Nick Gill advised he was leaving late Friday afternoon, so unfortunately no time to let supporters know. This was a late decision by Gilly, as he was staying with us up until that time. Media called me yesterday and I confirmed he was going to Cairns to do a full time on air radio show, so all I can do is apologize for not be able to get to our supporters first.

Alleway will be back into full training mid February and should be ready to go round 1. Obviously Gilly leaving was a surprise so whilst we don’t have new tall forwards waiting in the queue, our coaches are confident that we have a few options to take this role up. We don’t take into consideration Stewart or Johnston when planning.

Is there a reason why we passed on Crouch in the mini draft? They say he is going to be a"gun", and will be available for SANFL ALL next year. Were we going to be restricted in the way we could use him, or do we prefer Port players?
Football Operations
When we assessed the mini draft, we obviously looked at Crouch and others. For us and assessing our particular needs, we wanted a tall defender who is athletic, can kick well and is competitive. Nathan Blee is all of this, and at 21 years old and a couple of WEAFL seasons under his belt, he is ready to go. Crouch can obviously play but have some very good young midfielders like Nick Amato and Jake Liston (both also 17 y.o) coming through and we are keen to develop them into good league players who could be around for years.

What are the chances of retaining Daniel Motlop given that he has not been drafted for 2012?
Football Operations
Have met with Daniel several times, and he has not committed to us as yet. We really aren’t sure what he will do at this point.

From your response to Trevor's question about returning players, do I gather that McIntyre is not a 2012 player? (or is he simply not training at the moment?)
Football Operations
Andrew McIntyre is unable to meet our (or his own) training requirements to allow him to play in 2012. He is in his first as a lawyer, and is not able to get to training during the week due to the long hours he is working. He will be having a year off, likely playing in the Amateur league (he has no interest in any other SANFL club), then hopefully return to NAFC in 2013 once he has a chance to adjust his workload. We're all disappointed, but not much we or he could do.

Could you please tell us whether the following players are training and expected to play next season - Pollock, Starke, Williams, Wooding, McIntyre, Angus, Newcombe, Cumming and B.Renshaw. Which U18 players from last year are training? Are Coulter and Boxer training too?
Football Operations
Pollock, Williams, Wooding, Cumming and B.Renshaw are all training. Coulter and Boxer are training also.

Took the opportunity to have a look at the boys training at West Lakes on Wednesday. Very pleased with the effort and skills shown by all the lads at this time of the year. Good to see the physical side of the game used in training with some very willing wrestling duels. Well done to the coaching staff and players that were there. Go Roosters in 2012.

Cheers, huge amount of work being done in the gym, and on the tough physical part of training. We are seeing an excellent results across the board in size and weight.

can u give us an update on Brian Fenton and how does the club view our ruck stocks for this year
Football Operations
Brian Fenton has recently started a running program, so he is getting closer to full training. Ruck stocks are OK, with Craig and Miles, and we have added a few boys to the ruck stocks including Sam Baulderstone (201cms Mt Compass), Craig Jamar (194cms Goodwood Saints) and Justin Schahinger (195cms Hamley Bridge). We also have young Kyall Renshaw (196cms) coming through. Our focus has been on adding some height and size to our defensive area with Kerren Hall (193cms / 100kgs) and Stuart Hill (191cms / 90kgs), as well as bolster the midfield with Michael Clinch and Luke Davey (we will also have Brian Fenton available, as well as Jonathon Platten who has overcome his hip and shoulder surgery). We also expect youngsters Nick Amato and Sam Mayes to have really solid years next year, both players have been exceptional on the track so far.
